Future Pilots Mentoring

For pilot mentors

Mentor guidelines

Being a mentor here is a privilege — students are looking up to you. Every pilot agrees to these guidelines when they create their account.

What we ask of every mentor

Reply as soon as possible

Students reach out because you're real to them. Please answer requests and messages as soon as you can — or step back from the program if you can't right now.

Mentoring stays free

This is a non-profit program. Never charge a student for mentoring, advice or introductions.

Keep mentoring on the platform

Hold conversations in the site's chat so both of you stay protected. Moving the conversation elsewhere removes that safety net.

No selling, no recruiting

Don't use mentoring to sell courses or products, or to recruit students for any airline, company or training school.

Respect local laws and your company manuals

Follow the laws that apply to you and the rules and manuals of the airline or company you work for — including confidentiality and social-media policies. When you mentor, you represent them.

Think about what you share or publish

Be deliberate about what you choose to share or publish: no confidential company material, no student photos or personal details without permission, and nothing you wouldn't be happy for your employer or a school to see.

Be a role model

Students chose you because you've done it. Show up, encourage, and answer honestly — including about the hard parts of the journey.

If something goes wrong

If a mentor makes a student uncomfortable or breaks these guidelines, students, parents and schools can report it to us. We look into every report — and we can pause or remove a mentor's or mentees account.
